IMPORTANT INFORMATION
7kg of dry ice is required minimum to fill the unit to create enough fog for a 4 – 5 minute effect. More dry ice can be added if a longer effect is required but you will need to wait for the water to get to correct temperature once the unit has been used once.
Dry ice can be obtained from any BOC or SUPAGAS store throughout Melbourne. Please note unit does not come with any dry ice included in the hire price.
Very important to make sure that dry ice is handled with care as it will burn. Also very important is to make sure the room that nimbus is being operated in is a well-ventilated area or large space as you are releasing a large amount of carbon dioxide into one area in a short period of time.
How big of an area will the fog cover?
The fog will cover quite a large area at least a 6m x 6m square area. A lot will depend on air flow and we recommend that all windows are closed and air conditioners turned off temporarily while dry ice machine is in use as it can blow the fog away very quickly otherwise.
How long does the machine take to heat up?
A lot will depend on how warm the water is that you fill the machine with. If heating from cold water at least 1 and a half hours. If heating from hot tap water approx 30-45 minutes.
How long will it take if I wish to re use the machine once I have already used it?
It will normally only take approx 30 minutes to get back up to operating temperature once the machine has been used. You may however if using the machine multiple times need to check the water level to make sure it is not too full.
How much dry ice will I need?
Approx 6kg of dry ice is required minimum to fill unit to create enough fog for a 3 to 4 minute effect on its slowest setting. More dry ice would be required if on its highest setting. You can add more dry ice if a longer effect is required but you will need to wait for water to get to correct temperature once unit has been used once. The dry ice machine is not something you can use continuously for hours as it requires time to get to the right operating temperature and a lot of dry ice.
What is required to make the dry ice machine work?
All you are required to do is plug into power and switch on. Fill the unit with warm water and wait for unit to reach operating temperature. Once operating temperature has been reach fill the basket in the machine with dry ice, close the lid and lower the handle on the side to release the fog. You can watch the video to see how this works.
Where do I get dry ice from?
